Kurdistan’s Baneh and Iraq’s Arbil gateway to illegal mobile sets

After a rise from four to 60 percent in mobile set import tariff before its cut to 25 percent, its illegal import has increased dramatically and smugglers have made huge profits.
Previously, most mobile smuggling took place from south of Iran and the sets were transported to big cities such as Shiraz and Tehran.
Most of Tehran market’s illegal mobile sets now come from border city Baneh in Kurdistan Province and Arbil in northern Iraq.
