“Almost every company has separately received 30 national codes for their products and in all over 21,000 national codes have been issued for products in this field,” Ahmad GholamZadeh told Mobna news agency.
“Most products which have received national codes are domestic. The coding involves all productive, distributable, domestic and foreign products in this field,” he said.
“National coding for imported products in IT field will be implemented in the next Iranian year (March 2010),” he added.
The Iranian National Product Classification and Codification System (Irancode) is an electronic registry of supply chain products available in the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is a repository of data produced in Iran and overseas and serves as an infrastructure where trading partners can obtain, maintain or exchange information about parties and their products and/or services in a standard format using electronic means. Irancode also plays a significant role in e-Commerce promotion in Iran.
