Discussion on 21% IranCell shares sale at general session

“The matter needs to be discussed with all Second Operator shareholders including foreign ones,” Masoud Moghaddas told Mobna news agency.

At the time of Second Operator license compilation, the foreign partner had 70% shares but was reduced to 49% after Parliament objection.
Of the remaining 51% shares, it was decided that Mostazafan Foundation and SaIran would each acquire 15% and the remaining 21% would be owned by Bank Melli Iran.
The shareholders pledged, however, that 21% of company shares would be offered on bourse two years after MTN-IranCell had been in operation, but four years later no action has taken place in that regard.
The operator is estimated to have 12 million subscribers, although the company claims it has 14 million subscribers.
