Increasing GPRS speed is tested in Tehran: MCI official
“Currently GPRS service is testing with 30 kilobyte per second speed,” MCI managing board member Hamidreza Nikoofar told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
“In some regions this service can be offered with 50 kilobyte per second speed,” he added.
“In near future this service will be offered to Tehrani subscribers round the clock,” Nikoufar said.
“According to plans MCI internet service can be offered in eight metropolitan cities,” he elaborated.
GPRS pilot service can be used from 23:00 to 08:00 and in holidays round the clock.
The service fee is 14.8 rials (a fraction of dollar) in peak hours and in non peak hours and holidays is four rials. However this fee will be controlled and decreased in next phases.
