3.5G technology in Iran requires further research

technology before it enters the country.
Manouchehr Goudarzi, in conversation with MOBNA, stressed future generations of telecommunication should be viewed strategically, needing greater research and, of course, more funds.
He emphasized that country’s mobile phone 3.5G technology would not succeed without the assistance from its experts.
He compared the technology’s multiple application, which supports data transfer, with that of 2G, supporting VOICE networks only, and indicated further research is required prior to its entry into the country.
He stressed on high investment and trained human resources as two main elements in the use of telecom technologies, and indicated they are vital factors in ‘high tech’ zones.
It is to be said that the country’s existing operators employ 2G and 2.75G mobile phone technologies, whereas the 3rd Operator is required to use 3G.
