Iran`s biggest mobile phone operator to add 16 million more subscribers by 2016
The authorization was given to MCI from the state owned Iran Telecommunication Company (TCI).
On its part TCI is committed to develop country’s landline and mobile phone, data and telecommunication.
Major road and railway radio (wave) coverage is also required a year after Telecom’s receiving the license and for rural roads in the next two years at most.
TCI should also establish 6.5 million landlines by 2013.
Currently, out of 40 million mobile phone subscribers, 27 million are MCI subscribers and the rest are Irancell or Taliya subscribers.
