Third operator tender likely to be revoked if RCRO disagree with Zain

“In third operator tender regulations, there is not any argument about tender third winner and difference in proposition of first and second winners,” a Zain-Iran consortium official told Irans mobile news agency (MOBNA).
It was said before that Zain-Iran consortium proposed price which defers 30 percent with Tamin-Etisalat consortium to receive third operator license and this issue does not conform to tender regulation.
Also it was published in media that Omantel operator as third winner of tender has announced its willingness to accept Iran conditions in this project.
“Also Iranian authorities negotiations with Zain-Iran consortium has reached to favorite level and has positive progress,” the official said.
“The consortium conditions and proposition is under final study by RCRO. It is hoped that the negotiations result to be logical in coming week,” he said.
Tamin-Etisalat consortium compromises of Tamin Telecom company affiliated with Social Insurance investment and Emirates operator Etisalat was selected as Iran third operator tender winner on 21 January.
It was planned that the operator to attract 17 million subscribers during 15 years and to pay 160,000 trillion rials to Iran government during this period.
But telecommunication minister announced on 10 May that Etisalat could not use the investment opportunity in Iran third mobile phone operator tender.
