Third-edition of Persian sms not released

“The project has been shelved for the time being,” Jaefar Mohammadi told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
He said a survey, conducted in relation with the software, showed that there was difficulty in sending such messages, and it could not work without any keyboard handsets.
He added that further tests on some other mobile sets have been halted by MCI.
He said that so far 117 brands had been put to test by the Sharif University.
The software allows users to transmit up to 200 Persian characters in one sms message, whereas without the software, messages that are more than 70 characters long are broken into several messages, incurring higher cost to the sender.
