Foreign operators in 3rd operator tender have 260 million subscribers

“These operators are among well known and top world operators and some of them offer their services in more than 17 countries,” Saeed Mahdiun told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
“Total subscribers number of these five operators is more than total subscribers of operators which has participated in Iran second operator tender. Some eligible operators in this stage of tender have 3G network in more than four countries,” he added.
According to scheduled plan third operator tender C packages (proposed price) will be opened on 22 December and afterward the ultimate winner will be determined.
All five consortiums (Zain Iran, Omran Tel, Tamin Etisalat, Fanavari Mouj and Abi-Iratel) which had provided their packages to participate in third operator tender, entered to opening price packages stage.
These consortiums are Iran Zain consortium compromises of IRIB Retirement Fund, Teachers’ Fund and Zain Co., Omrantel consortium compromises of Omantel company and Mobin Iran company, Tamin Etisalat Consortium compromises of Tamin and Etisalat companies, Fanavari Moaj Consortium compromises of Saba holding, Fanavari Mouj and Indocel companies and also Abi-Iratel consortium compromises of Pars Iratel and Bharatia companies.
United Arab Emirates operator Etisalat currently offer its services in 17 countries in Asia, Africa and Middle East and is assumed as 12th world top operator.  
Indian operator Bharati is India biggest operator which has more than 75 million subscribers and is active in 23 countries.
Omantel is first and biggest operator which has 80 percent of mobile phone subscribers in Oman. The operator has more than one million subscribers which compromise more than half of Oman population.
Kuwaiti operator Zain is active in 22 countries in Africa and Middle East and has more than 56 million subscribers.
