Mobile set import tariff not affected by Iran’s joining WTO: official
“When Iran joins WTO, mobile set import tariff won’t be down to four percent or lower, and for that to happen, Iran should request WTO for a few years’ grace,” the president of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (ITPO) a commerce ministry organization, Asghar Ghazanfari told Mobna news agency.
He suggested that mobile set import tariff should first and foremost protect domestic manufacturing and the market from smugglers.
He stressed that WTO and a cut in mobile set import tariff are not the ultimate goals of the ministry of commerce but the ministry keeps a watch on the mobile market.
