Telecommunication minister cancels Tuesday’s Parliament appearance: deputy minister

“The telecommunication minister will appear in parliament probably next week to answer to some deputies,” parliamentary affairs deputy of the telecommunication ministry Samad Momen Bellah said.
He said the ministry is fully prepared to go along with the Parliament’s wishes, pointing out that questions such as delivery on demand of mobile and landline phones and expansion of rural telecommunications are among subjects that the minister is expected to address.
He said that the sms tariff will not be discussed and in fact the meeting is the continuation of a previous meeting which ended halfway.
The telecommunication ministry’s failure to establish an electronic government (a kind of paperless handling of government related tasks), limited telecom services and poor services to subscribers are among issues that the speaker to industry commission of Iranian parliament had outlined.
A number of deputies have demanded explanation by the minister on poor management in Telecommunication Company of Iran and Iran Mobile Company.
