Limited public attraction to mobile banking: bank manager
“There has been a steady growth in the number of mobile phone users and it was hoped that mobile banking will increase,” Saderat Bank’s planning director Mahmoud Khorasani told Mobna news agency.
He added that services like account balance, transactions, checks statues and credit transfers can be obtained from the mobile banking system and those owners of bank cards, which are members of Shetab (banking integrated system), may pay their bills through that system.
Khorasani said that mobile banking system has various features which some are more popular with the public than others.
Nowadays, most public and private banks use sms to save on customers and banks time.
Such banks, by providing services such as telephone banking and mobile banking, have helped ease banking procedures.
According to an Iranian Central Bank official, the sms bank, or the mobile banking system, was first introduced in the early Iranian decade of 1380s (2000s) providing services such as bank balance and transactions.
