Iran state broadcasting has monopoly of show programs on mobile
“Mobile Company of Iran (MCI) can not broadcast television programs, since we have the exclusivity of it,” information technology deputy in Irans state run broadcasting, Jahangir Aghazadeh told Mobna news agency.
He elaborated that it is the feature with the mobile sets that enables the user to watch television programs and thus it has nothing to do with the mobile phone operates.
“Some mobile sets provide feature which enables the user to watch television shows,” he added.
Irans constitution states that televisions programs can exclusively be broadcast through the state run broadcasting.
The service started in March 2008 by the state television offering 10 television channels and four radio stations exclusively for Tehrani residents.
