Mobile phone Latin terms’ Persian equivalents not on Academy’s agenda

Hamid Hassani, an Academy researcher, said, in conversation with MOBNA, that Latin terms are in abundance in telecommunication, but quite limited in mobile phone zone.
He indicated, however, that the Academy is currently reviewing the practice in the telecommunication sector.
He said the Academy would study the matter if some Latin terms were thought in urgent need of Persian equivalents.
He said that ‘SMS’ was the last term for which the Academy found the Persian equivalent ‘Payamac’.
The term, however, is yet to find widespread acceptance by the public.
