VOIP providers expected to rise after tender

“It is expected that at least two companies will be added to the existing no of formal VOIP providers,” Mohammad-Bagher Zohourifar told Mobna news agency.
“Existing VOIP providers may take part in the tender if they qualify otherwise they would be replaced by new companies,” he added.
He said the tender requirements and frameworks were not yet known but the tender would most probably be held by the end of current Iranian year.
A similar tender was held last year by CIC and its winners were announced, but some private sector activists have always doubted its integrity and the manner it was conducted.
VOIP users, for their part, have always complained about its poor service and high cost.
