Government sold TCI at 1/10th its real value
“The assignment is illegal in principle and the government has only allowed assigning its own properties. Mobile and landline phone subscribers own TCI shares to the value of their deposits,” Mohammad-Reza Khabbaz told Mobna news agency.
“The government was not allowed to sell TCI shares since no annual budget had been allocated to TCI at all and TCI operated on public fund,” he said.
“Government has sold Telecommunication Company of Iran at 1/10th its real value, which is 800 trillion rials. The tender had other weak points such as it had no real contender and the government sold it in installments,” he added.
50% plus one TCI shares were sold to Tose’eh Etemad Mobin Consortium on bourse on Sep 27.
