TCI block share trade legal: Privatization Organization head
“The objection by the General Inspection Organization on security qualification is not valid since by law there is no limitation on buyer companies’ security qualification,” he said.
“The points referred to in the General Inspection Organization report on TCI privatization are not within the Competition Council responsibilities,” Gholam-Reza Heidari Kord Zanganeh said.
“The GIO report mostly pointed to qualifications which are completely the responsibility of the Assignment Board,” he added.
“According to the law, in assignment of strategic companies such as TCI, some qualifications should be evaluated but such qualifications have not been determined and is left to the Assignment Board to determine them,” he said.
“Buyers’ qualifications, however, should be evaluated in different instances such as financial, technical and security qualifications,” Privatization Organization head said.
