Domestic equipments to be used in launching mms centers: MCI official
“We have inked a contract with the only domestic manufacturer “Peik Asa Company” about mobile phone mms centers, so that the company should launch the service in first pilot phase for 100,000 Tehrani subscribers,” Mobile Company of Iran managing director Vahid Sadoughi told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
“If the pilot is implemented successfully, then the network development will be done by using domestic made equipments,” he added.
“We have bought mms equipments from abroad and the MCI network is ready to offer mms service (multi media messaging) for two million subscribers. Soon the service will be offered to Tehrani subscribers who have registered for GPRS service,” he said.
“Next development of MCI mms centers will be done by domestic equipments after pilot phase,” Sadoughi continued.
Mms service enables users to send voice, data and pictures via mobile phone network.
Sending each mms will cost 1000 rials (10 cent).
