Export-worthy domestic products will have government backing: commerce minister
“The government’s policy is to back domestic products which are export-worthy and in so doing create a balance between the countrys imports and exports,” Masoud Mir-Kazemi told Mobna news agency on the National Export Day ceremony.
He said the government’s intension has been to boost exports, which now stands at 20 billion US dollars, hoping to increase it to 51 billion US dollars in the next few years.
He said the government support should be for products which are export-worthy and so domestic mobile set manufacturers should not expect such a support for their products which are in no way compatible with foreign brands.
He said, however, that domestic manufacturers should always seek to improve the quality of their products.
