New regulations for determining optical fiber network damages

“According to this regulation the cost of damages will be determined based on the average cost which is needed for repairing the cut in the optical fiber,” Telecommunication Infrastructure Company managing director Mohammadbagher Zohourifard told Mobna news agency.
“Optical fiber network is any nations treasure, but unfortunately cutoffs in fiber network has increased in the previous Iranian year (ending March 2008) in comparison with the same period two years ago,” he said. 
“Internet consumers are the first to be affected from cutoffs in optical fiber network that will lead to decline in service quality,” he added. 
“Cutoffs in optical fiber network lead to cutoff between provinces communications and will cause problems for transmitting data services,” Zohourifard said.
“It also creates problems for international communications that use this network,” he said.
