Parliament’s telecom committee should remain attentive over mobile smuggling: expert

“Import, control and storage of mobile sets, operators’ problems in offering their services and prevention of mobile set smuggling through imposition of import tariffs are among the duties of the parliament’s telecom committee,” Mohammad Jamshidian told Mobna news agency outlining the committee’s responsibilities.
He believed in the light of rapidly expanding mobile set technology abroad, the competition between domestic and foreign sets is meaningless when we witness monthly production of new models abroad.
Jamshidian added that 95 percent of the country’s mobile set advertisements are on foreign products, which proves that the competition between domestic and foreign-made sets is pointless.
