60,000 SIM cards in the hands of government directors
Iranian Telefon-e Hamrah (Mobile Magazine) in its recent issue (June-July 2008) reported despite this year’s Budget that government agencies are obliged to sell off all the sim cards at their managers disposal in order to economize, however the reality is otherwise.
The report added that such officials should either return their sim cards or buy them from their agencies on installment.
Experts believe if such move is fully implemented by the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad there will be a saving of nearly 20 billion rials (2.1 million dollars) in government expenses.
